just a friendly warning to you all by kristinekm on 22 May 2005 1:15am

- if you don't want to drown in spam, do not mention your email here. Since I have mentioned my email in the bithday message thread I have "Won" the british lottery (in spite of not having participated) , I was only to send 100£ in advance to show good faith and by the way email the number of my bank account and so forth. I have been asked for advise in investments in my country by people from Asia and I could have inherited money from a very "religious" woman who believed I was a good Christian and just wanted me to collect some money from her late husband, because she could not due to cancer and that I could not call her beacause she could no loger talk due to the disease. She knew that I would use the money to help others and bla bla bla very touching. (I've got to admire their creativity)

Of course if you are very naïve just mail them back and send them the money they require and then some more and then... (you never see those you were promised), or just have fun with the spam messages' creativity or delete them, but as I have said it's easier just not to mention your email in a public forum.

:)

Best whishes,
Kristine

I don't like SPAM. I know Michael Palin likes SPAM but I think it tastes like loads of salt grains stuck together. WUHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cheese, I think it tastes that way because that is excatly what it is. Pink jelly salt grains. Stuck together.

The best spam I got was claiming I could die if I drank soda directly from the can. You see, rats piss on soda cans inthe storage facility. Then it is shipped out to retail outlets with dried rat piss on it. Then you buy it. You drink it. You consume dried rat piss and die. Yeah, it really happened to some lady in Duluth (not). oh the horror. Yawn.

the story is not true, it is a myth. Read all about it:
www.snopes.com

Of course, I got this spam on my PC/Windows/ CrapMachine at work.

actually, I do think it's a good idea to wipe off your soda can if you are going to drink out of it. Or use a straw.
ew yuck.

Have you ever received one of those chain letters that tell you you're going to die unless you send them on? I often wonder that I'm still alive.

lol.... its amazing how some people get sucked into these Spam mails ... i often get ones where theres some person in Africa who has inherited millions blah blah and would its partly mine etc and to send £ to release the funds .. there all very vague.

and talking of chain mails/hoax mails etc this section determines if they are fact or fiction

If you're posting your email in forums, it's a good idea to type <at> instead of @. Spammers can set stuff up to search for @'s with google probably and come up with huge lists. Maybe they search for <at> now too. Who knows. Anyway, try myemail (at)/<at>/at/_at_ or something other than @.

kristine, i've been getting that too since my email went up. it's annoying.

i didn't like the one about the woman with cancer and late husband, because i just saw that as disrespectful.
