Great Website! by Helen on 17 October 2002 4:08pm

I just registered! This site is fan-freaking-tastic!
Big Palin fan here... I'm not big, per se, but my admiration is. Meaning, I'm not particularly large in stature.. in a physical sense, but my respect for the man and his work knows no bounds. So my devotion is big, but I'm not. My feet are a size 9 and a half, and some may say this is a large shoe size for a woman. There are some who would say otherwise. I will let you make up your own mind. Is a size 9 and half shoe a BIG shoe-- for a woman?
I guess if I said I was a "large" fan you may think I was a large person, but the word "big" causes intense confusion.
Funny, that.
I need confusing--I am in a "rut."

In that case, is it safe to assume that you will be <adopt silly DJ accent>"largin' it"</end silly DJ accent> when Michael returns to our screens this Sunday.

I'm a gargantuan fan of Michael - which is probably as big a sign of fanship as being a large fan of Michael, although one wonders if there are small, tiny or even microscopic fans of Michael out there.

Fantastic website btw, honestly - darn nice design! Congrats to the chaps and chapettes who built this.

Do you think there could be a connection between the size of the foot and the level of admiration?

eg

Size 5 - generally interested but may not go to a book signing if its raining.

Size 6 - slightly more generally interested but may not go to a book signing if rain is forcast

Size 7 - noticeably more generally interested but may not go to a book signing if its windy with a possibility of rain and just had their hair done

Size 8 - very noticeably more generally interested but may not go to a book signing if its windy with the possibility of rain, had their hair done but forgotten their Pac-A-Mac.

Size 9 - extremely generally interested, may go to a book signing if its windy with the possibility of rain, had their hair done, remembered their Pac-A-Mac and brought a 'Brolly .

Size 10 - embarrasingly generally interested, will go to a book signing if its windy with the possibility of rain with their hair done wearing ONLY a Pac-A-Mac!

( Hi Helen, I'm a 9 1/2 - 10 depending on the cut of the shoe and the weather!!
:-} :-o :-}}}}}} )

You know, I wear size 10 boots! Wow!
I found a lovely pair of black wing tips at the secondhand shop the other day. Here's a thought: does MP wear wing tips?
Why are thay called wing tips? It all seems rather silly, but they look cool.
And they have to be black. Brown shoes don't make it.
So, on the days I wear my boots-- I am embarrassingly generally interested. I would say this description fits me.
This has helped me immeasureably. Thank you!

Hi Helen!

Would n't it be cool to be Helen Palin!!!???!!!

Oh and Ellen, I'll just have to be contrary and not fit into your theory. I've size 5 feet.

Well, it would, if my devastatingly handsome husband didn't find me first.
He is quite silly and is fond of trains, too.
Size five feet? Dang! You've done blown our little theory all to hell!
Ellen, we need a new theory, stat!
I am just willing to bet that with size 5 feet-- you are able to operate a very small standard shift automobile. Am I right?

I thought so - this chatter box is getting a bit out of hand with all those hormone-oozing ladies around! *lol*
I hope I'll make it to one of the book signings in London at the beginning of December... I haven't been there for a while and combining a visit to London with seeing Michael is as good as it gets really, isn't it?! So I will be travelling to see him. How approriate is that?! *lol*
BTW, I don't know what my shoe size is in UK size, but the German size is 39. We should globalize the statistics! *lol*
Hugs from Germany,
Lucy

Mrs.Pallen - How about we leave Michael at home to play with his train set, and we 'girls' (I use the term loosely! at 57 going on 25!) go walk about. p.s. Size 5 - right on - No Sun - No Book signing!! Guess that lets Newcastle out eh?????

Apparently this is supposed to be me ďSize 7 - noticeably more generally interested but may not go to a book signing if its windy with a possibility of rain and just had their hair doneĒ. Iím used to wind and Iím used to wind blowing my hair around so, wind with the possibility of rain would not keep me away from a book signing. :-)
