For Ellerd (and others). by tucsonmike on 29 May 2006 5:31am

Friday, I purchased a book on railroads called Extraordinary Railway Journeys. One of the chapters is about a Queensland route called the Savannahlander. Looked like an interesting run.

To tell you the truth Mike, I don't know a great deal about the Savannahlander train. At first, I thought that might be the name of the train that runs from Normanton to Croydon - but that's called the Gulflander. I had to rely on Google. It does look like an interesting trip. There's not a great deal in terms of civilisation beyond Mareeba, though - very small towns!

maryland is this annoying station in between Stratford and Forest Gate. the train stays there for ages for no apparent reason and you can see Stratford st from the other end of the platform.
