M Palin & John Cleese in Fish called Wanda by xine on 28 March 2003 9:54am

Watched 'Fish called Wanda' (2nd time actually) still really funny. and now I find that John Cleese is really charming! He was charming in his youth - MPFC days. but in 'Fish' he's got a different kind of charm. and Mr MP has got such funny cute curly hair! How did he get the curly hair? Never seen him with curly hair in all his travels!

I agree what you say about John Cleese. He's always been cool but in Wanda he's 'humane' too :)

I'm with Michael...That curlie do was hideous. I hope he did it simply for the role and not for fashion.

Anyone know?

It was definately for the role Patty! I liked his hair for the Ken fella. It matched somehow. John sort of had a gullible in love thing going on, it was cute, lol.

yes I think that hair is necessary for the role of Ken. Really felt sorry for Ken when Otto ate his fish in front of him. That Otto is nuts and stupid. do like the love story between Archie & Wanda- it developed in a believable way. in the end it did appear that Wanda falls in love with Archie too. and Archie can escape from the doldrums of a very dull marriage.

Oh my gosh, that hair drove me crazy. He had it in "American Friends" too, and I wanted to attack him with a pair of scissors and a blow drier. My mom, who is not a naturally mean person, you understand, had a hysterical laughing fit while watching the dog-killing scene and the fish-eating scene.... she was making noises like a vacuum cleaner with something drastically wrong with it, and she was almost (almost!) funnier than the movie itself.

I have to say I love the hair, feels kind of sexy to me, and at the same time, it fits Ken, sweet Ken,
I love his face when he's telling Wanda that Otto tried to kiss him, soooo sweet and shy
