Ceb1: Try the following companies

These are the ones I normally trawl through. If you were hoping to head to paris have you tried the channel tunnel, don't know how much the fares are though, or perhaps a train/ ferry combination.
Incidentally before flying anyway, particularly on a cheapy airline, I recommend you watch the pilot sketch, in "how to irritate people", the thought of this sketch kept me entertained throughout a very bumpy flight!

Cheesey-jet and Ryan air have done well in the past. I managed to get a return flight from london to zurich for the weekend for £9.60 return. I can't get a taxi to my house for that! Also Barcelona for £41 each (return), and I recently picked up a flight to dublin from birmingham for 50p!!(athough the return flight was £20...). I will say though that it is a bit of a free for all on the seating, and you need to take your own sandwiches etc, but for short hop flights around europe I've never had a problem...

ooh, ooh. may mate rang me last night to tell me that ryanair are doing dirt cheap flights to Italy at the mo, she got one for £14 including taxes, and they are cheap on the way back too, so it's not just the one way scam. Thought it was worth passing on, I hope one of you can make use, since I am running a tad low on annual leave!

I've flown with Ryanair on same day return tickets. Flew out to Venice Treviso early in the morning (around 7am) from Stansted, and back from Venice Treviso around 9pm, back in the house by midnight! From Treviso there was a bus to take you right into Venice, next to the Grand Canal, and then caught the boat to St Mark's Square. So I got to spend a full day in Venice, with time for lunch and dinner as well as touring a lot of the sights, and all for less than 40 quid return inc taxes! That was a couple of years ago, so I'm not sure if you can still get the same deals. So in my experience, you can certainly get some great deals with the budget airlines.
