I'll be on a 12 hour flight to Bangkok this August!

On my first flight (to Tunisia about 25 years ago) a woman a couple of rows behind me collapsed with heart problems! She was on the floor in the aisle, and had one foot against one loo door and an arm or something against the other door! There was someone in one of the loos who was unable to get out and was obviously wondering why, and the cabin crew were trying to help this poor lady up. She, thank goodness, came round eventually, but she had to remain on board when we got off so that she could be checked over by a doctor.

Quoting: One solution = Valium

Ah. No. Don't do that. I did that once, a very short hop from London to Zurich. Argh. Actually I only remember boarding the plane, then sitting there, sort of half-dazedly waking up and asking my sister: when are they going to serve lunch? To which my dear sister asked: You already had lunch, just half an hour ago.

I had completely forgotten about that, I couldn't remember lunch AT ALL. Total amnesia. Which is a very nasty feeling. And worst of all: the plane hadn't taken off yet. They were still waiting for the "go" and served us lunch to keep us busy. *sigh*

ugh. Your dose was too high... bummer.
There are other meds out there that can just take the edge off, and not make you a zombie.
i know I would need sedation, but perhaps not that much. :)

What I've found to be a better solution is xanax or its generic, alprazolam. Don't drink with it or you might be sleepy in no time. No fears

Anyone want to go to New Zealand?
Re: Oh no... by Wisey on 27 January 2005 10:09am
ABSOLUTELY!!!! Always wanted to go to NZ. Only have 2 weeks of holidays left... :(

And I think I'd try flying over shorter distances first... on second thought... perhaps flying long distances is better?

I had a hankering for New Zealand when I was younger but have recently discovered it is in an earthquake active zone.
