He said 'jolly good!' and 'great!' to my husband and I and was all pleased when we had our 'Ripping Yarns' DVD signed at the Himalaya signing!! (You could take another item).

He put on it 'Ripping Best' !

Don't know yet if we'll make it to a signing this time - depends where they are!!

Did anyone else at the Hatchard's signing hear that store employee gush about MP? Someone asked this man it the signing would start on time, and an employee (who reminded me a bit of Mr. Humphreys) started saying "Oh he's been upstairs signing copies for an hour, and he's ALWAYS on time." Then he kept going on and on how MP is very reliable and one of their best authors and he goes back along way with Hatchards. It was a touching tribute. :)

Wasn't a youngish bloke with glasses was it?

Saw him out of the corner of my eye. Had greyish hair, but maybe youngish? It was so sweet though. :)

Ah. I know the bloke you mean. He knew my name when I hobbled in.

No, Sally & Andrea, it was me talking to the Hatchards man (an older man with grey hair, very nice) - I like to keep them talking about things which interest me! So I kepthim talking about Michael as long as he'd stay, and yes, it WAS so nice to hear Michael praised by an unbiased source, as it were - I'm glad you overheard the conversation! (BTW did you notice a geordie accent there - that was me - hence the username!)

Sorry - I'm from NY. I can identify the nuances between Brooklyn and Bronx accents, but "Geordie" is beyond my grasp. ;)

Funny, Andrea! And I can pick out an L.A. accent like nobody's business (Like, totally, fer shure, OHMYGOD Dude!). Come to think of it, this may be why I moved to the "right" coast. :)

Andrea, Gewordie is beyond a lot of English people's grasp, you're not alone!
Maybe we will meet at IOE. I will be wearing a pink jacket, am blonde & wear specs. (And am Older).
