Fave film that I watch again and again and still smile and laugh = Shakespeare in Love -

Mel Gibson in the Patriot is another that I can see again and again - along with Braveheart - must be something about Mel Gibson - the eyes?

A very clever film that I enjoy is
Sliding Doors with gwyneth paltrow - you have to concentrate on that one.

Cartoon fave - ANTZ!!

Any Star Wars fans?
I'm a total Star Wars geek!
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas(me and a buncha my rapscallion punk friends attended opening night with grapefruit and hawaiian shirts)
All Python films, of course
Sid and Nancy
Barry Lyndon
High Fidelity
Fish called Wanda
Jeez. I could go on, but I won't. Fun thread!
Peace and Grapefruit,

My difficulty is, I won't watch movies that are rated R, unless they're on tv and edited, which is why it took me so long to finally see "A Fish Called Wanda". But I'd love to see Life of Brian, and things like High Fidelity, and the Usual Suspects, and that sort of thing. But we don't get tv, so I have to borrow other people's cable.... and it's a pain in the neck.

That's OK, Anja. I'm not too upset about it! *Hehe*

Re: favorite film by canaveralgumby on 9 April 2003 9:15pm
Godfathers I & II
Dog Day Afternoon
Psycho (Hitch*bleep* v.)
Glengary Glen Ross
Apollo 13
Life of Brian
Unforgiven (Clint Eastwood)
The Matrix
The Blues Brothers
This is Spinal Tap
Trading Places
Coming to America
Throne of Blood (Kurosawa's v. of Macbeth)
Henry V (Kenneth Branagh)
Hamlet (Mel Gibson)

and I'm going to throw this one out there, it's an unbelievable film:
HEAD starring the Monkees, screenplay by Jack Nicholson
Re: favorite film by Gypsy on 9 April 2003 11:23pm
Canaveralgumby, I love HEAD! That should have been on my list...

I also left out Brazil, which I just saw for the first time a few months ago. I couldn't tear myself away from the TV for that one - despite being dead tired.

Re: favorite film by Helen on 10 April 2003 12:39am
I forgot!
Anything Christopher Guest does... the man's a genius.....
Re: favorite film by Rusted on 10 April 2003 8:27am
Lyn...FREEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM! I seriously have a friend named William Wallace and my bros and I always write that whenever we see him come into the Rustie chat. He puts up with us surprisingly well. ;O)

How very odd that Head got brought up! I actually had that on my list, but took it off because I didn't figure anyone would know what I was talking about! You guys rock!

I've been a huge fan of the Monkees since I was 12, but that movie really takes the cake - bizarre but incredibly deep and intense.

Re: favorite film by Layla on 10 April 2003 9:27am
I saw HEAD - well I have the video. It's a bit mad isn't it? I love all that psychedelic era though so it's cool. 33 1/3 is even crazier I think!
