Canaveral, that is a good word to use for the feeling after losing your parents!

Mrs. Thing, that is one of things my brother wants. He wants a family to buy the house or at least someone who will really love and take care of it. Our father loved it so much.

Speaking of which ... After a very rough couple of days, my brother and I have arrived at a compromise we can both handle. We are changing our realtors to someone he feels better about, but we are adjusting the price to match the market. It helped that I found an appraiser who agreed to come into the house "cold" and give us an opinion on its worth without input from either of us. My brother didn't necessarily like what he heard, but I believe he now better understands the situation.

So ... He is happier. I am relieved we sidestepped another argument. And we are both SSSOOO ready to sell this thing.

I'm glad you worked things out, pandab. I hope all goes smoothly from now on.

I sympathize with you brother, but at the same time, you have to do what's best for everyone concerned. Perhaps hiring a professional photographer to take pictures of the house, inside and out, and making a scrapbook of pictures and written memories of good times there would give him some consolation?
