Re: something i made ....I found them Vibhas! by geordiegirl on 20 June 2008 2:07am
Well, I'm quite a good cook & a reasonable gardener.
I can 'manage' well, be sustainable, don't make waste, handle money quite well
Like Patty, I'm well organised
I probably write good letters.I read an awful lot of books...is that good?
Er....that seems to be it. I do NOT possess the artistic/literary/creative gifts of other Palinites.
And I like to encourage people, so I do NOT believe other Palins when they say they're crap at this or that.

Vinhas, just found your picture - really really good.

I like that. You have talent. It's a regret to me that I can't draw. I can do cross stitch, though. At the moment, I am doing a Japanese lady. Haven't finished it, yet, though.

Nice work, Pete!

Neither my husband nor I are at all artistic when it comes to drawing. I have very neat handwriting; that's about as close to drawing as I get. Our daughter, on the other hand, draws quite nicely. She'll never win any prizes, but her stuff looks better than what most kids her age turn out.

Lovely delicate work, Pete. I like the peaches best (but then I would).

Skilled Trekker!

I'm like you Pete. Not in the least artistic. :)

OOh Pete yes, nice peaches ;)
Re: something i made .... by Spursfan on 22 June 2008 5:04pm
In Turkish 'peach' (actually pic, with an undotted i and a cidilla on the c) means bastard.

And fish in Turkish is balik (undotted i) which is pronounced bollock resulting in lots of jokes etc.

[sorry to be crude]

The word for two is iki, prounounced as it looks, but in the Istanbul area it is pronounced 'ichy'

So imagine someone ordering 2 fish in Istanbul....

By the way our friend used to have a wonderful dog called, in English, Count. Unfortunately the Turkish version of Count sounds as if it is missing the 'o'.....!!
