ummm we dont need johnny this site never did, maybe u need him spursfan but u can have him in msn, since johnny joined this site he has insulted and driven away almost as many people as you spursfan, spilling his guts on his private life and generally annoying just about everyone
this site was a much nicer place before johnny came and fused his alliance with spursfan
i wish theyd just both disapear for good

Just because someone *wants* you to take something personally, that doesn't mean you have to.

I hate it when this happens on other sites I belong to. Every single one of them has bullies. I've been hassled before to an embarrassing degree on one of them but I refuse to leave. They are fan sites and I am a fan of great many things in life. There is nothing wrong with a smart ass, I love smart ass. Life would suck ass without it.
I haven't been here but a few months and have had a few snide remarks in my direction for reasons I am unaware but I am here for Michael Palin and to get to know and/or interact with other fans.
I've quite enjoyed johnny's enthusiasm here and this is a total bummer man that he feels it necessary to leave.

I have not been reading all the yucky stuff - but I have a feeling The Chatterbox may be a bit like the Hotel California... You can "log out" any time you like - but you can never "leave..." Especially not you, Johnny. (That's my guess) Best!

Also I think people should think of Michael Palin, and his values. After all, it's his site - he could "pull the plug" at any time. He wants world peace and understanding... "Think global, act local..." Think of Bono, too - it's not just talk, it's walk...

Very well said, mrsthing. Leaving would only be letting these jerks know that they're getting to you and achieving what they wanted to. Stay in spite of them!

Just logged in....habit I suppose. Old JTM is still here and ready for a fight. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm in one of my depressive episodes but I'll get over it....I always have so far. Someone accused me of ' spilling my guts about my private life ', that's just honesty mate.
Anyway, I met an old friend today ( Isabelle ) and she invited me to her wedding next month. She is 58 and very much in love with a great guy. That sure cheered me up.
I now just have to find a partner to accompany me as my darling Meg aint talking to me. Slept with her sister only once......and she falls out over it ! ;)

I don't see the issue with "spilling" one's guts about personal stuff at all. I believe if you know enough people on the board feel free man! If a reader has frikkin tizzy about it they don't HAVE to read it much less comment on it.
I am glad you are still here. You've been established here and no reason why you should feel pushed off.
Cheers to you bro and I do hope things get better on your end :)

Yes, I'm with you, Mary. We're too established & sensible to let the current ripples-in-the-water disturb us long (and I forgive you always for being a Republican voter!!! Joke...you're nice, tolerant, friendly - a real Palinite.)

Would anyone like to hear about the cervical polyp I had removed on Friday?

LOL Be yourself, and keep up the good work, Johnny!

Patty, John, I'm glad you guys have re-considered. And I agree with Linda - most of the people here are great!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I feel compelled to ask: How often is this site moderated? On most sites, personal attack threads are deleted pretty quickly. Yet the one that started all this mess is still up there, nearly a week later. Obviously, Webmaster can't be around all the time. Would it be possible for long-time, trusted members of our community be given the power to delete troublesome threads at his/her own discretion? That might help prevent a bit of grief in the future.
