Dont forget patrick to ask for a poster and stay to the end of the signing - make the most of it - if you can stay there is another signing in London at lunchtime the next day at london victoria - w h smith so look up the web site - take your camera as loads of people were snapping away today and michael was so good with all of them - ask the bookshop to take one of you together with the great man they should help you out. good luck - one life and make the most of it - ask and ye shall receive - hopefully!

Hi everybody,

I'm sitting here in front of a computer at Camden Hostel, London. Just three hours a life dream came true: 'I MET MICHAEL'!!! I went to the book signing at the Owl Bookshop in Kentish Town. It was just great. People who have the chance to attend, do so! I arrived this morning in London at 7:30. After checking in I went out to locate the bookshop which didn't take long. I asked the staff for procedures at the signging. Just when I was asking the owner he was writing me an e-mail which I had been waiting for so long! Anyway, he told me that I should be there at 6:40 p.m. (!) I was a bit amazed. Didn't seem to get very busy, I thought. Well to be sure, and as I came exclusively from Germany, I went there at 5:30. There were only a couple of people there at that time, but more should come. Finally, at about 7 p.m. he entered the bookshop. I couldn't believe that he was there, as a lively person! Then he started talking and told the audience about his experiences on his travels through the Sahara. It was reallz very interesting and so wonderful to listen to. He sometimes refered to Python which made it for me as a great fan, even more funny. After some 20 minutes of talk and answering questions he started signing. As many of you I wasn't quite sure what to say when I approached him for his signature. Surprisingly he knew that I had come from Germany to meet him. Later I learned that the shopkeeper had told him. After having got my copy I waited for the queue to end. I wanted to take a picture with him, which I did!!! He was so patient! He had signed I guess 100 books and was still there. I gave him the cover of my 'Fliegender Zirkus' to sign which shows a Gumby as one of his major roles. Then I asked him if he still remembered some German from the days when filming in Germany and he said his favourite German line: 'Ich kann mit einem Eierloeffel Fledermauese toeten' (I can kill bats with a small spoon). It was just great. Then he left the bookshop and took a taxi to the city centre. Finally the shopkeeper gave me the poster advertising the signing which made this great experience complete. I will never forget it!
It was absolutely worth flying to London just for the day!
I can just say: Michael is a great person!

Hey Patrick!

Good for you! Well done, Sir. I'm glad your patience and determination were so well rewarded. It sounds like you had a fantastic time.

If you are like the rest of us, you could now probably fly all the way back to Germany without a plane!

Best wishes,

Lucky Patrick! I'm so happy for you!!! I'm waiting...haven't seen the Sahara series yet, I might see them tomorrow because a friend taped it for me, (because I don't have the discovery channel!) Wow, I still can't beleive people have met him. It's so cool! I hope I don't have to wait long, but it seems really unlikely, Darn Canada! AHH!
