Don't quit on the Jets just yet. I think they are a team to reckon with. All this Peyton worship is starting to get a little stale.

Peyton isn't a favorite of mine either. I think he gloats in a certain passive way. I don't like that. And when things don't go his way, which isn't often, he acts like a little cry baby.

I'm rooting for the Jets too.

Friday January 22: Okay so who are we rooting for now?!

I am in the process of making a large-scale stained glass of the Minnesota Viking logo (Viktor the Viking) for my brother who has been a fan since Fran Tarkenton (late 60's)! However I must admit I am put off by Brett Favre. I really appreciate him and his career. But, like Jay Leno on tv, Favre has become this person around whom everything is supposed to revolve. "I'm retiring. No I'm not. Yes I am. Well, my team should just put all their plans on hold until I decide what I feel like doing." I don't actively dislike him, but I can't get behind him.

Then there are the Jets. They are a rival of my Dolphins so I don't want to root for them! BOOOOOO!

The Colts wear a beautiful shade of blue! They have Peyton Manning, who COULD have an ego the size of Indiana & surrounding states, but is an all-around good guy. But he has already experienced winning a Super Bowl (though not everyone on this year's Colts team has). Also, the Colts could end up having a perfect season, and the only team in NFL history to do that thus far is...do I need to say, the 1972 Miami Dolphins!

So canaveralgumby is throwing her support behind the New Orleans Saints. I like to see cities like N.O., Detroit, Pittsburgh, and other places having a particularly hard time, see their teams win championships. Alright, it doesn't create jobs, but it's encouraging.

Thoughts, Patty and company?

I just can't in my heart root for the Colts. if you know anything about football, you know why. Plus, I'm not a fan of Manning's. Big head.

As for Brett Favre, I feel like you do, Cori. And he's a selfish spoiled brat. He just wants to keep playing like a kid who won't know what to with himself when he stops. I wasn't happy how he jerked around the team before he made his decision whether to play this year or not either.. What a prick. I've never liked NY teams due to the Yankee/ Oriole rivalry and then the Baltimore Colts and Namath back in the early 70's. I guess I want the Jets to beat the Colts and the Saints to beat the Vikings. I have no super strong feelings about it this year, but if I have to choose, I guess I'd like the Saints to win it all. (And not because of the hurricane.)

How 'bout 'cause Drew Brees and Reggie Bush are cu-u-u-ute. Actually, Adrian Peterson of the Vikings is a perfect human specimen! But I seem to have digressed here.

I understand why you can never back the Colts, I do.

I have no idea what those guys look like, but I guess they are very good reasons, Cori. hahahaha

I was never a Brett Favre fan until he "retired" from the Packers three years ago. They were telling him he was washed up and needed to go back to Mississippi. They had a younger quarterback to replace him. Now, Favre has had one of his best seasons ever and could go to the Super Bowl. His story is pure magic! Go Vikings!

Brett Favre's interception yesterday only added to his mystique. After resting up for awhile, he'll be ready to back fighting.
