Cadburys by Spursfan on 19 January 2010 12:43pm
I see that the take-over of Cadbury's by Kraft has now been agreed. [Does this mean they'll no bw called 'KRAFTY' Creme Eggs?!]

Re: Cadburys by ev on 19 January 2010 12:56pm
A lot of what "Kraft Foods" produces can barely even be called 'food'.

Go fresh, people!

I'm sorry. I'll see if anyone wants to drive while I moon them.
I agree with Ev on both counts--they permanently revolted me a few years ago when they sent a magazine of their construction recipes. The feature: a recipe for Asian range ribs made by marinating them with a combination of a corn syrup based barbeque sauce and a powdered orange flavored drink mix with a ton of sugar.

RIP Cadburys. As long they don't change the recipe, which was my big worry with Hersey's as I can't stand it, they should be fine, but I suspect that ain't going to happen (#sob#!).

This was just on BBC America News, Katty Kay was talking about it. I hope the recipe is not messed with.

I notice that as yet there are no comments from Kazzzz.

Can someone go round to her house quickly please as I am sure she must be passed out on the floor with shock!!

With regards to Kraft I adore their 'Singles'. We buy them to put on burgers on the rare occasions we have them, but I can eat them out of the packet - yum yum.

And orange-flavoured drink, Fran? Do you mean Tang (which I note is made by them)? If you do it is lovely, they have it in Turkey and we buy it very occasionally - but in several other flavours. Slightly, well, 'tangy' which is just how I like it.

I suppose if the chocolate 'mix' is not tampered with and everything (eg packaging) is left as it is then we should be ok. But I just get the sense of it being the end of an era.

No there aren't Anne, I cannot even think about facing a world without Cadbury's Creme Eggs.

Will the CADBURY registered trademark/Company name disappear altogether,or will it be retained on the packaging, etc?

Does anyone know a website for Cadbury's creme eggs,or has that disappeared as well?

Cadbury has factories in about 60 countries.
1250 workers at Cadbury's factories in Australia at Ringwood,Scoresby and Claremont in Victoria and Tasmania are worried about job losses because in 2008,Cadbury sent 170 jobs to New Zealand.
A spokesman advised workers best not to lay all their [creme]eggs in one basket.

Big Cadbury and Kraft deal not so sweet for jobs

Q: Would it be a heresy to march into a Cadbury factory and proclaim:
"A Mars* A Day helps you work rest and play!"
*Mars is a reg-trademark brand owned by Food giant Nestle-Rowntree]
Re: Cadburys by mrsteabag on 20 January 2010 9:02pm
Anne, it was Kool-Aid in the sauce mix. It's a totally fake powdered mix with a ton of sugar and colorings banned by any civilized country.I can't believe that I'm still alive after all the pitchers of it that I drank in my childhood.
With all the things in jeopardy, now I really want to moon them.
