I used to live in the same building as a relative of Sting (his aunty, who wasn't much older than him). Also met one of his uncles and his grandmother. Lovely people. Unfortunately, I didn't meet Sting himself.

Also the sister of a famous comedian works in the same place as me.

First of all, I didn't have to go over my own generation. I am my generation. Secondly, it's not my dad's side of the family (not that it matters), thirdly, it was my gr. gr, not gr gr gr.(my error, I know). Most importantly, it being a major famous world renown figure and FIRST cousin, he is still a closely related ancestor on the family tree. it's weird that I don't count anyone I knew personally, alive and well, as a past generation, but they are. Like my dad and grandfather. It's when I got to the "gr gr gr" that I began to count. But so what? Why does that bother you so much , Johnny? becasue he's super famous and I have a proud heritage?

Of course that's why Pats! The only claim to fame JTM has is that his postie's siter's uncle's drycleaner once walked past the Krankies in a crowded shopping mall.

It didn't 'bother' me, I just thought I'd point out that you can't count. Yes, you are the present generation and your great-great-great-grandfather ( your statement) is 5 generations away from you. Even when you removed a 'great', you still thought it was only three generations.
Are you keeping up ?

No, I didn't Johnny. I said I had NOT been counting all living generations (or those that WERE living that I personally knew. Me, mom and grandmom. After that, I took away a gr. and it was 2 left.
