I believe the decision to withdraw the right to drive is made by a person's physician in BC, I don't know about other jurisdictions.

I recently heard of a friend of mine planning a drive to Ontario with his wife. He is 92 and will do the driving. There is no way to comfortably drive to Ontario and back. The UK is closer to Canada than BC is to Ontario. It's a four day drive for us normal folk, but Bill will do the driving.

I suppose age means nothing, it's a person's health that makes the difference. 92, driving that far? Phew!

Bill is one of my heroes. He is a remarkable man. He was a pilot, flying an aircaft he built himself, built a 40 foot displacement hull boat from the bottom up, and made a rowing shell for himself at age 73. These are but a few of his accomplishments.

Yes, the ability to drive is an individual thing.
