I read in the Sunday Post yesterday that people are fighting back against this stuff. A Manchester company was fined £440,000 for sending thousands of spam and texts a day to randomly generated mobile phone numbers. Once the phone owners acknowledged the text they sold their number on to another unscrupulous company.
Another man recorded the pestering he was getting on the phone from another company and took out a civil court action against them. He claimed just under £10,000 (the limit for a civil court action) and settled at £5,000.

I've noticed that there is a repetitiveness to the spam and trash I'm receiving so a lot of it is from similar or the same sources.

Grand Mondial Promotions want to give me an account transfer. I don't know if it's an account transfer from me to them or vice versa in any case it's probably a gambling or buy our stuff type of promotion.

Good Day want me to have Rolex and Cartier as favourite brands. I'm afraid they are too dear for me so I'll stick to my cheap and reliable Casio.

Lloyds Bank, or a Spammer pretending to be them, is phishing for online account details. They are desperate because they've spammed me twice in 20 minutes.

Earn With Roulette wants to take my money automatically. I doubt very much if they want to give me money automatically! They are so keen they have e-mailed me twice today.

Various News senders want to sell me something so I have set a filter to put all of these in the trash. That's 3 more of this type since last checked. + 2 more.
