sozzled - halfway (approximately) between tipsy and drunk. I've put approximately in brackets because when you are sozzled it is difficult to judge exactly how far you are between the states of tipsy and drunk.

You know, I'd love to have the time to search through palinstravels Chatter Box to find all these gems of mine and put them into my own joke book.

Ainster - Anstruther, a place in Fife.
You wouldn't believe how the Fifers pronounce Kilconquhar (a place in Fife). If I hear it again I'll try and spell the pronunciation phoenetically.

Skelly - look at. Origin unknown.
(The word also means cross eyed as an adjective with Scottish origin.)

Piffle - all that effort wasted/what an annoyance.

I've looked up the meaning of piffle and one of its synonyms (words of similar meaning) is blather so it's OK to talk/write nonsense q.v. Blathering On. Isn't that very Monty Pythonesque?

Some of my posts are written as a serious comment but with hindsight can be quite funny.
