Haven't seen this movie but here are my two guesses:

One of your answers is close SF2. You could win the competition with it. In fact, I'll give you second prize straight away as others reading this may use the information to give closer answers.

I'm sorry for not coming back here sooner with the answer to the competition. Anyway, Spursfan2 has won it and taken 2nd place too! Congratulations SF2 and also for finding your way to the question.

The correct answer I was looking for was 66 (but I put + or - 5 on my count so SF2 was within 1 of the range of my possible answers.

Thank you Ken :)

I do online suduko and average around 5 to 6 minutes at best. Sometimes, if distracted it can take me up to 14 minutes to complete one. This morning I did one in 4 minutes and 8 seconds.

The competition is to find the sudoku website that I use and beat 4 minutes and 8 seconds to the end of the solution.

There is no prize for this competition as it would be too easy to declare any time less than 4-08. Those of you who would like to declare a time of less than 10 minutes may do so but no fibs please.

Here are a few clues to a quick solution:

1. Understand how it works before you start.

2. Never guess the solution to a number in any space.

3. Watch for being able to solve 2 or 3 spaces at the same time.

Have fun.

I do a daily AOL Sudoku and also a daily AOL diagonal Sudoku. The latter varies as each day it is a different level but I usually do the normal one in 4 - 10 minutes. The longest time I took was 26 minutes, which was today - I left the puzzle open while we had lunch !! So....is it AOL?

Re: New Competition. by Ken Dunn on 9 March 2018 7:34am
Hi SF2. I don't think the one I do is AOL but if it records your solution time to the second then that is acceptable. If you can do them in 4 - 10 minutes then there's a good chance you can beat my time. (But if you do I'll have to try and better my time again!) I did a 5m 57s this morning. Sometimes I mess it up and restart the same grid - then I'm near 12 minutes or so.
Re: New Competition. by Ken Dunn on 25 March 2018 11:01am
I've just done a 4m25s, close to my time to be beaten.

Oh dear!. I've just solved an online sudoku in 3m29s but I can't award myself the prize for beating the required time which still stands as the time to beat. Photograph available of the finishing screen with the 3-29 showing. Ken 1020 on 1 April 2018. P.S. this is not an April fool.

And a 3m30s on 8/7/18

Just an update to the latest new competition. The one I use is websudoku.com and if anyone else would like to try the competition the rules start about 5 posts ago on this topic. Note that as soon as the grid appears on the home page your timing has started.

I've just done a 4m31s on the sudoku. I'm always pleased with anything under 5 mins.
