Re: What would you say to Michael if you met him at one of his book signings?? by Miss-M on 20 January 2003 7:19am

Karen, if you haven't yet read LIFE OF MICHAEL you should definitely check it out - see the thread 'Life of Michael' for more info. Since Michael agreed to be interviewed for the book you can be pretty sure that it gives an accurate account of his life. It's a delightful read with some great pictures too!

Do you happen to be the girl who runs the "You're Mother Should Know the Beatles" and "My Hovercraft if full of Eels?" Websites? If you are, I just want to say that I love them and visit them on a regular basis! Keep up the good work :)

Hello everyone

didnt see this the first time round but I couldnt really join in as I have seen MP three times - the first for myself the second for charity and third for the chatterbox

this is a brilliant thread to read - you made me giggle as usual - and evrything is so true you do get nervous it took me the third time to remember what to say and get it right! but then I was giving him the print out of the chatterbox for all you folks so i had to say something sensible - you dont forget what happens even if you get tongue tied.

loved the - is it april yet!! know what you mean - perhaps if you hibernated and set the alarm clock for end of march it would come quicker!?

the first time I saw MP in cambridge I was encouraged to ask for a kiss by the lady in front of me in the queue- she had seen him before as he knew her by name!! MP did not mind at all he is very self effacing (right word?)and will genuinely chat with everyone, at Bluewater on the 6th dec he said happy christmas to each person throughout the book signing! bless him

Good luck with whatever you say

Lyn two kisses

Thanks for the tip, I'm actually going into town tomorrow so I will try to chase it up. Have you read "Michael Palin" by Jonathan Margolis? I found that a good read. Still haven't managed to scan the photos...stay tuned!
See ya Karen

Lyn, I unfortunately couldn't go into hibernation until March - I've got classes to attendduring that time and I don't want to be in college longer than I have to! (Or DO I? LOL!) Besides, what would you guys do without my charming presence??? ;O)

Thanks for sharing a bit more of your Michael-meeting experience...he just sounds like a dear. So we really *shouldn't* worry. But we will anyway. LOL!

Yes, we shouldn’t worry, but we do all right! Human nature to worry about something or rather. It is normal to feel nervous about meeting someone for the first time we admire. The Beatles were very nervous when meeting Elvis for the first time.

I do feel better today. I got myself a haircut and it looks very good. So, my hair will look good when I meet Michael. :-)

A few nights ago I dreamt that I met Michael outside an ABC shop at a local shopping centre! He was dressed in a nice shirt and shorts and appeared as though he'd just come back from filming a travellogue! Just thought I'd share...

Michelle :)

P.S. Only 8 days to go!

Oooh...I can't wait to hear about your adventures Dianne and Miss-M!!! I have a bit of a wait ahead of me (if I get to see the lad at all!). Now, with all of these tips (and pretty hair), you two should be set!

(I'm am far too exausted to say much more than that, so if you run into Rusted here, let her know I was here at 11:15 p.m.
Perhaps I'll have a lovely dream too.....after the day I had at work today, I needs it) ;)

Happy travels into dream land!
kisses-
