Re: What would you say to Michael if you met him at one of his book signings?? by MissTrixiB on 31 January 2003 5:25am

I love that we can now turn this into the 'SO what DID you say to Michael WHEN you met him at one of his book signings' thread! Keep those stories coming! (BTW, What WERE those questions that he asked MissFruitcake? Or were you in such a state that you can't remember?)

(no kisses from this 'miss...es' till the flu bug goes away)

Well he asked if my friends and I were sisters... and whether the other thing he was signing was for me as well... And when said happy travelling to us I said "and to you!". Just general shy nervous.excited interaction on my part really (and I was in such a haze that I've forgotten most of it!)

I originally intended to tell Michael how much I enjoyed AMERICAN FRIENDS and when I met him, I did! I also recommended the film to a friend and she liked it too!

Cheers,
Michelle :)

If there's anything better than Michael hiking over the countryside on TV, it's Michael hiking over the countryside on TV in *period costume*.

I would tell him how much pleasure his travel programs have brought to me and how much i have enjoyed seeing the places and the people from all over the world and that it would be a brilliant idea if he took me with him next time.I would also ask him to get the BBC to bring all the programs out on dvd

Hey, MissFruitCake (I'm sorry, I've already forgotten your name - the number of Palinites is growing!)...what show are you referring to?

A mention of lumberjacks in New Zealand this weekend got me and a friend singing "The Lumberjack Song", and another friend was trying to describe something that Michael did that sounds a bit like what you mentioned in your post above.

So I was just curious as to what show that was, as I didn't recognize it - and I'm a bigger Michael fan than these folks by far, so I felt a little silly! Thanks for your help. :O)

Hi Mary!!
I was referring to American Friends that Michelle had mentioned just above. I'm sure you've seen it or heard about it - it's the movie where he plays one of his relatives and goes off to the Swiss Alps and sits down and gazes wistfully at the countryside a lot and falls in love with another visitor.
P.S. That's ok about forgetting my name - I hadn't ever said it!!

Oh, never mind - I know American Friends, I though you were referring to something else. It wasn't quite what my friends were describing.

They mentioned something about the Crusades, which is totally a Terry J thing in my mind, unless I missed out on a Michael trip somewhere, which I may have.

Thanks anyway! :O)
