Hey, I DID shudder at the thought!!

And I most definitely never suggested eating you as the marmite-n-spam! LOL!

"Big Cheese"? How did you *know* I was such a big fan of cheese?! ;O)

~Mary (And, BTW, Ellen who is not-quite-human, it appears your picture has arrived safely! Looking forward to picking it up when I visit my friends this weekend! Thanks!)

Glad you got it Jen :-}}}

We have been known to have "Close Encounters' here in Kiwiland!!

as well as...

"EP phone home!! EP phone home!!"

Yes, I don't tend to use my glowing digit for toll calls but it comes in handy if someone needs to light their ciggy at parties!!

"EP" err Ellen x

P.S. Glad the pic got there Mary, gosh it was sent over 3 weeks ago!! Anybody would think there'd been a seasonal public holiday or something!! :-}}

Here' my attempt...
He has a face that invites you in - warm, friendly, full of knowledge (never ceases to amaze me how he finds time to learn so much) and yet with an inquizitivness of a child (excuse my spelling - or lack of it!)
A playful humour that reaches far and wide - yet never offensive
A self-assurance without arrogance - while reading his accounts I feel I am walking along-side him - he shares his experiences so well
The kind of guy you would just LOVE to have to (as opposed to 'for') dinner!
Wish he had bigger feet so I could follow in his footsteps!!

Is anyone willing to ask him when they see him next? Ellen? :-)

Re: The secret of Michael's charm by ellenpc on 9 January 2003 10:37am

Oh god don't ask me!! Please.........

You know I'm taking no chances and will be bringing cue cards which I'll be able to hold up for Michael to read at the appropriate moment during my turn at the booksigning. Even if I'm struck totally dumb, my hands should still work and hold up the right card, with the right comment at the right moment.

Unfortionately I haven't got a good track record of being verbose in the presence of idols but will try my very best for Michael. :-}}

I'm not usually verbose in front of idols either.

Amazing concept, isn't it?

~Mary = verbose, superfluous, rambling

Good question! I reckon Michael's charm is down to: those eyes - that can be so cheeky yet, in a second, can turn ponderous. A smile which illuminates his whole face sending a message that this life should never be taken too seriously. And that spirit, which shows such a strong and resilient character. A character that can set the world on fire with originality yet can go (quite literally) to the ends of the earth - and survive.

Oh, and did I mention damn sexy??

Ah well, it always comes down to Animal Instinct in the end!!!!!

- I hope my husband isn't reading this...who, by the way, is not called Michael !!!
