I like a lot of nonfiction, but it has to be edgy. I grew up on Hollywood biographies from a used bookstore, Hans Christian Andersen, and John Jakes. I also like Anya Seton, Jean Genet, Guy de Maupassant, Henry James, Louis Auchincloss, John Galsworthy, a bit of Dickens, one by Hemingway (The Sun Also Rises), and, I'm from Alabama, so I'll say the South's own Faulkner. Faulkner's characters remind me of my family!

It goes without saying - Michael Palin's books!! But as well as that I enjoy reading the Cadfael books by Ellis Peters; Agatha Christie (especially the Tommy and Tuppence Beresford books - sadly only 5!); autobiographies/biographies; anything at all about U2 - really I'll read anything that captures me by page 3!

Oh....and although I'm well over 21 I do love the Harry Potter books!!

Best wishes everyone - Anne

I'm into travel journals and exploration at the moment.

Just started reading The Motorcycle Diaries by Ernesto 'Che' Guevara (and recently released as a film).

Any of Fergus Fleming's books come highly recommended - all about characters from the history of exploration, told in a very jaunty, anecdotal style.

I enjoy reading action thrillers. My favourite authors are Patrick Robinson,Who's stories are set on Submarines, where the USA is out to save the world from trouble elsewhere,Chris Ryan and Andy McNab,both ex SAS,who write thrillers based on SAS action.

At the moment I'm reading "Smithereens" - small but beautifully formed pieces of Shaun Micallef, by Shaun Micallef. Shaun is an Australian actor/writer/comedian and is also witty, charming and handsome, much like Michael! :o)

Kaz's favourite book is "Ethel the Aardvark Goes Quantity Surveying", isn't that right?
