Its the first book I've read that actually made me laugh - and I'm only on day 4!

Love the book, and as you say Givy, imagine Michaels voice, makes it all the more enjoyable!!! :-)
Re: Sahara Book by Miawallace on 26 October 2002 2:13am
Yip, you HAVE to imagine his voice, its the only way to read it.

It is great i have to agree, although im confused -- i keep reading in magazines that his journey was from Gibraltar to Timbuktu (refering to the tv series) although it clearly shows on the map (im only half way through reading the book) that he goes in a circle, past timbuktu, back to gibraltar and visits far more places. Im i jst being stupid?

a confused (nothing new there then) sonia x

Once November rolls around, (When Sahara is released in Canada) I'll be able to get a copy for myself I hope. It sounds just wonderful from all the reviews I've read! I've been borrowing copies of his other books and I just couldn't put any of them down! Just spent hours reading and giggling. I finished Pole to Pole yesterday, which was a great read, just like Around the World in 80 Days and Full Circle. He's a very gifted writer. I hope that Sahara won't be his last. Hats off to you Mr. Palin!

I won't have to imagine Michael's voice because I've got the CD of the book. I thought it would be perfect when I go for my long walks. I have only just started reading the book itself and am enjoying it immensely.

I have only one complaint about the book. I cannot read French and some of the French words have me stumped. :-(
