Lyn and Phyll, I feel more and more sorry for you the clearer you make the picture of the event. I'm certain that I would have burst into tears if my big hero had talked to me like that. Well, he might not be as big as we think but he's only human and as I said before I will hope that MP would give what he said some thought and regret it.
I can only hope you will feel better soon and add:
When life seems jolly rotten
there's something you'd forgotten
and that's to laugh and dance and sing
:)

When you're feeling in the dumps,
Dont be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle,
Thats the thing.
And....
lol come on people! |

richarddavids - you have a right to your opinion, but why such nasty personal abuse? I might even agree with bits of what you say, but your nastiness overshadows it and all most are going to see is your personal attack. You accuse Lyn of abusing innocent posters, yet here you are abusing her. Your message would have held more weight if you kept your abusive attack out if it. |

Hmmm, think there's got to be a bit of "growing up" on all counts here. The fact is that there is a valuable lesson to be learned here - shock, horror!!! Michael is human! Imagine yourself in his shoes. Not able to go out for a meal without being interrupted by well-meaning but irritating "fans"; nips down to his local Asda to get accosted for autographs, etc. Its not an easy gig and I'm not surprised that he occasionally gets ratty - wouldn't you?
The problem with being a fan is that your relationship feels intensely 1-1 and expectations are extraordinarily high. Thing is Michael has thousands, nay millions of people who feel this way and he cannot possibly meet all those expectations.
The other thing which is *really* important to understand is that Michael owes you nothing. Fans sometimes feel that by buying merchandise/watching that somehow they own a share of that person and therefore the expectation is that their star should deliver. Wrong. If you want to see a brilliantly worded piece on this - see enoweb http://music.hyperreal.org/artists/brian_eno/email.html a page on why Brian Eno, one of the world's most gifted musicians shuns contact. Read it and think about it. |

richarddavids, I think that you will find that most of the palinites you think have turned against MP by feeling sorry for phyll and lyn and thinking what MP did was unpleasant, just meant that they themselves would have been very sad too if Michael had reacted likewise towards them. And then tried to cheer lyn and phyll up by supporting them.
I allso think that many fans try and want to find a reason for the behavoiur, because MP is a man we all love and I think the more you love a person the more confused you get when he does something not loveable.
I'm sure MP is as good a man as he always has been and that lyn and phyll have to heal their wounds before they can look back on the event in a more neutral way.
I hope that I have made myself clear (English is my 2nd language) and that I haven't offended anybody because that wasn't the intention.
