I hope nobody here thinks I think the USA is the center of the universe just because I wish Michael would appear in other cities besides NY when he comes to the USA. Please don't distort and twist what I say, for goodness sakes! You are splitting hairs.

Also, according to you, Michael is taking a year off from making a travel series and therefore signings and tours have yet to come to this continent, so I guess what you said about the tour in NY wasn't a tour after all. You seem to keep changing things, but that's alright. . I still stand by my point that it would be ncie to see him in other places besides the Big Apple. That's not asking that he dance to my tune. It's just a wish. I'm sure many other people here feel the same way, because over the last couple of years many on this web site have expressed the same thing about his appearance locations in THEIR native countries. It has nothing to do with being from the USA and I resent that remark you made inferring that.

Michael, my dear, tired, fellow:
GET SOME REST...We're not going anywhere and true Palinites shall wait in patience for your triumphant return to a greater portion of the US someday. Now sleep....sleep....

Agree with Paripatetically - I, too, don't think the US is the center of the universe.
I also wasn't aware that he's THAT old and tired - he's able to travel all over the world for extended amounts of time, and plans to again, so I thought it might not be too much trouble for him to go to New York, Chicago, DC, Atlanta, and LA. Going to these 5 cities would allow most people who want to see him, hear a talk/reading, etc. get a chance to do so.
When I started this thread, I'd forgotten that, because his show is on the Travel Channel, he might not be able to actually DO a lot of publicity. I don't think it's really up to him - it's up to the network to decide how widely they're going to promote a show. And if even the Travel Channel website buries the reference to Himalaya, I doubt they're going to pay for a US tour.

come on he is 62 years old, he needs to have a rest (not that I can imagine MP with a paper, cup of tea and slippers!!) and have some time with his family and friends

After Michael has some rest, I too hope he does a tour of the USA. I met him in Chicago in 1998 on the Hemingway's Chair book tour and my camera decided not to work when we were having our picture together! I have been waiting ever since to get that picture together again! I have a nice new digital camera now! I think he has been in Chicago since but I wasn't able to due to pregnancies and other book signigns I didn't know about. I was really hoping he would be in the USA this summer to do (like the other poster) said, a 5 or 6 city tour inlcduing Chicago. So after you rest Michael come on over we would all love to see you!
