Yes, what were some of the questions he answered?
Re: Upcoming MP appearance 11/27 (UK) by Ahren on 28 November 2005 5:41pm
He answered Emily's (lucky bugger) but it was the only question that he didn't read the name out! She asked "In your journey to the Himalaa, what was the oddest experience you had" or something to that extent! He replied by saying "Well i thought i was dead at one point!!" He also told us the Meaning of Life (don't tell, Sue!!) and someone asked something about toilets........

It was a great evening! He seemed really up for it, and was SO funny all the way through!! Even the anecdotes we've all heard hundreds of times were hilariously funny, just by the way he re-told them! There were only a few old ones though, which is amazing by now!! His accents all sounded the same, the Dalai Lama spoke the same as that Chinese doctor bloke AND his Sherpa guide up Annapurna!
He sang the Lumberjack Song in German, earning him a HUGE round of applause, and told us about how he really freaked out some Germans in a cablecar who were complaining about Brits never learning German! He recited it to them- "They never spoke to me again!"

Me and Emily both wore our little Gumby hankies! We got some very funny looks from people as we walked back to the tube, although a nice lady in the toilets didn't seem TOO bothered about our "headgear"! I don't think many people got the joke though, which is the sad thing!

I was there!!! It was AWESOME!!! I love him so much! hehehe. I was in the stalls on row F, so pretty close to the man himself, where were you? Did you get any photos? I noticed other people taking some so i got my camera out, but as i took the photos an usher tapped me on the shoulder and so i turned round and so it went all blurred, and he said i wasnt allowed to take photos EVEN THOUGH EVERYONE ELSE WAS!!! Bah- just cos i was the youngest person there! Wanted to go to the aftershow drinks thing but would have missed my train back and had to sleep on a bench like a london tramp lol. (No offense if any tramps are reading this)
I loved it when he sang the lumberjack song! And the whole bathing an elephant impersonation too "yes, just rub under the armpits, thats how we like it, Palin" and all that. I really want to actually MEET meet him now! My mate's dad sat by him on a plane once which was rather cool, he was like "yes...hello." and didnt get his autograph or anything! tsk!
i noticed the comical accents too, but i didnt see you in your Gumby hankies. if i had i'd have come and said hi lol.

i was in the Dress Circle, so above you! Wow, you must have been close! I used the opera glasses, so i could zoom in REALLY close, lol!
I loved the elephant bit too!! I mean, where did he get that from?!
Were you allowed to go to the after show party? Classed as VIP eh?!
Me and Emily thought we were the youngest there, were looking around but everyone seemed over 30! JOKING!

Oh, that sounds like so much fun! Goodness, I wish that my canoe had made it to England! I hope somebody represented me there! ;-)

Maddis, I expect the other people taking photographs were official photographers because they only took photos at the end of the talk.

We were sitting in the Grand Circle (above the Dress Circle) in the front row, but still had a good view.

Another question was someone is setting off on his travels on Saturday and what would Michael's last minute tips be. I can't remember the answer though!

I thought your friend's question was a good one, Ahren.

Sorry all for my delay in reporting back. Busy Busy Busy :-(
I can confirm what everybody has said, it was a brilliant evening!
I was also in the stalls in Row B directly in front of the podium sat behing the man from TortureCare and a lady from Amnesty.
From where I was sat, I must have been no more than 10 - 15 feet away from the podium so I had an excellent view all evening of both the slide show and the speakers (John McCarthy was excellent aswell).
I'm glad that some of the people on here can remember more than myself as I was living for the moment in there, enjoying things so much I can only recall them with huge smiles when others mention them.
Anyway, I'm sure it will be an evening that all of us who went will not forget.
