Weather - too hot!

Dear God ... what foul, foul weather! You'd think I'd be used to Queensland summers, after living here my whole life, but no. I just don't know what to do with myself! Nothing can be done to relieve this heat! Everything is sticking to me!I am covered in cat hair!It was supposed to get to 36C today and it probably has. It's not just the heat here - it's the humidity.
Still ... wouldn't live anywhere else! Although ... a holiday in the South Island of NZ wouldn't go astray right now ... |

Don't worry Em, you're not alone - I've been living in Qld (a couple of hundred kms north of Brisbane though) for 16 yrs and I'm still not use to the weather during summer. What I particularly hate about it is when it's so hot during the night you actually have to peel yourself out of bed next morning. 34C where I am yesterday, 33C today - but very humid. |

Would you mind sending your weather to the UK?? After a week of snow and sub zero temperatures it is now throwing it down with rain. If it doesn't rain now I know everyone will say we are having a drought but it rains practically every day!!!! How can one of the wettest countries be having a drought????????????

Aww, you poor gals in the eastern states!
I guess I'll get my comeuppance soon, though it may be awhile. Yesterday it dropped to 20C and rained lightly. I was all rugged up in a thick jacket and jeans when I went to work yesterday and today was no different.
Summers get the same way here in Perth and I'm still not used to them though I've lived here all my life.
At night time, it gets so stuffy in my room that I can't wake up without breaking out into a sweat and my face stuck onto the pillows! |

Note to purple - I'm not a gal. I'll forgive you this time :)
If it were 20C here, I'd be wrapping myself in several layers of clothing. A couple of months ago - August I think - it was 11C here in the middle of the day ... and I live within an hour's drive of the Tropic of Capricorn! Brrrr! |

It was minus 3 Celsius this morning. It made it to 14 today. I was moaning about how cold and crisp it was.

Really, really sorry about that Ellerd *goes red*
Yeah, July/August seemed to be a very chilly month. I always thought 11C was a rare temperature for Queensland, or even WA, to experience - even in winter. But it got that low over here too and much colder at night where it got dropped into the minuses.
Funnily enough, I'm looking forward to the warmer weather, so I can complain about it too. Since April it's rarely got over 30C and its been cloudy most of the time! |

I think you must have different temperature gauges in Australia that start higher up the scale! Are you saying that 30C is NOT hot?!! |
