I can't be sure who said it - I think it was Mahatma Gandhi:
"An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind."
Something to that effect... |

Spursfan, I love your quote <G>: "I'm fat, you're ugly - but I can diet".
It reminds me of a story I heard a long time ago. I wouldn't stake my life on it, but I believe it was about Winston Churchill. Even if it is not true, it's still a great story ...
Churchill was at a formal event, dining next to a woman he found pompous. For reasons I can't remember, the woman turned to him and said, "Sir, I believe you are drunk."
"And you, madam, are ugly," Churchill replied. "But tomorrow, I shall be sober, while you will still be ugly."
Like I said, I don't know if the story is true or even about Churchill, but it's a great story. One of those that, if it's not true, it ought to be <G>.

This isn't a quote as such, it's a line from a book, but I've always liked it:
"The Ramkins were more highly bred than a hilltop bakery" - Terry Pratchett |

If he can't turn their heart
may he turn their ankles
so we may know them by their limping."

Ah! The Irish! How about the Irish toast:
"Sing like nobody's listening, dance like nobody's watching, and make love like everybody's watching!" |
