Just to let you all know that I'm back, peeps!!

Landed at Manchester Airport at 1 a.m., then because of a 'technical hitch' (someone fell asleep perhaps?? ;-) ) the baggage carousel didn't start up until 2.10 a.m.

Just what you need at the end of a tiring day!

Anyway, enjoyed the hol anyway although we were busy.

Now back to keep you all in line - well somebody's got to ! ;-)

welcome back! got a tan?
Re: Off to Turkey! by Spursfan on 16 June 2006 7:44pm
Thanks arty! I only have a bit of a tan, as I have to keep out of the sun because of an illness I have.

The weather was lovely, about 30 and sunny. I know you guys have had similar weather here, but its a dry heat there, not wet as it is here, so its fairly comfortable.

We didnt spend many days lazing round the pool either, as we were busy getting our apartment right. There were 'teething' troubles (its a new build)- just little things but they needed to be fixed and then you are confronted by the 'ok, tomorrow' attitude when you want it doing then and there!! We love the Turks but we got quite cross a few times.

We're lucky in that we have several close Turkish friends (we're like family) - one of whom has a lot of clout as he is regional leader of a political party and is 90% certain to be ion parliament in the next election - so we have a good support system. I wouldn't like to buy a property there without it. When you've been without a flushing loo for 3 days and they just shrug their shoulders it is not good!!

It looks great now though, and we were able to have our friends for a huge typically Turkish breakfast last Sunday morning!

Back in September for 3 weeks - this time for a holiday!!
