I wouldn't say John Howard was a warmonger. Wouldn't that suggest we have an independent foreign policy? Howard is like that kid at school who would do anything to get into the "popular group". "Hey John, I'll let you join if you come to Iraq with us." But I agree with everything else you say!

I often wonder why Australia needs to be so close to the powers of Europe and North America. Is it because we're still uncomfortable with our geography, alarmed by the powers to our north?
