My brother was terrified when we saw The Wizard of Oz when we were very small children, in fact he spent the majority of the film with my cardigan over his head!

The Wizard of Oz was scary and creepy and I got NO good feelings from it! I have revisited it as an adult and I still feel the same. It was disturbing. Your brother is not alone in his response to it.

I totally agree with you about the Wizard of Oz. Like most kids, the first time you've gotten yourself lost, the experience is usually terrifying. It the first time I ever found myself really praying. Same with the movie. I seen the movie so many times now, I look for little things. In the dance seens in Munchkin Land, several of the background actors are dwarfs with either Downs Syndrome or other kinds of mental handicaps, which is normal. If the movie came out today, I wonder if people would say they were being exploited.

The original Exorcist was truly the most disturbing movie of all time, to me. Mixing religion with the occult is a deadly combination. I don't think many people are absolutely positive in their owns minds that there is no such thing as the devil. On the other hand, The Exorcism of Emily Rose is really a wonderful story, despite being so sad.

Has anyone seen the movie Return to Oz? It was made in about 1985 I think and Fairuza Balk (who was also in The Craft) played Dorothy. Now THAT was some freaky shit!! All that business in the insane asylum, then Mombi with her collection of heads and those wheelie men. Arrghhhhh! If you thought Wizard of Oz was disturbing, check out Return to Oz!

It IS creepy Kazzzz but I think you'd probably manage without the cardie ;)

Oh, I remember seeing part of a movie which really frightened me as a child but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called or what it was about. I only saw a few minutes of it and I think there were creatures in it called Ewoks. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

P.S. I just did a search on imdb and maybe it was called Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. Appears to be some sort of Star Wars spin off. Hmmm... All I remember is that I was really scared!!

Missy, Ewoks were very cute, wot on earth are you thinking?
Actually....come to think of it...they had nasty furry faces, dark scary hoods and glowing eyes.
I see your point.
What are your views on Wombles then?

Re: WORST LEAST Favorite Movies! by Miss-M on 20 November 2006 10:55pm

Errr, I don't know much about Wombles so I have no comment to make at this stage.

What does everyone think of The Dark Crystal and the Labyrinth? Do those movies rock, or what?

"Trial by stone!"

Ooh David Bowie in tights???

Just thought of another shocker...
"Hitch" with Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez. Absolutely stank.
