The Chatter Box : Blathering On
The Council let you down by Tiffy on 26 February 2007 8:46pm
With a couple of hours to kill before bed one Sunday night at my house,
the chores all done and with nowt on the box the internet I did browse.
For my lad an' his chums a St Patrick's day 'do',to the council site I went,
'Ooh look, Michael Palin, a favourite of ours, a Monday 4:30pm event.
My workday was spent clock-watching, my family depended on me
..to rush off and get some autographs on books and DVDs.
So there I stood standing at half past 4 with my pen and the booty to sign,
No crowd! no press! has something gone wrong for now it's approaching 5.
I hastened to ask a chap moving some stuff, asked what time things would begin,
'You've missed it love, it happened at 4, the time had been a misprint'.
What would I tell my brother(Keith) for years a devoted fan,
who spent years acting out sketches, humming tunes from Monty Python?
What would I tell my son (Wesley)now at Uni in Leeds,
who avidly followed your travels which in turn encouraged his need...
to live and learn,to be and to do
finding inspiration in you.
So how would I get and who would I ask
for my brother, my son and myself your autographs?
