As I stand on the bridge I can’t help feeling that I could be making a mistake, but I know this is the right thing.

Will doesn’t love me, he never will. I thought we’d be good together. When he first arrived at the Institute I fell in love with him, even though two of his fingers are missing. I felt that made him look hard.

Don’t worry, I’m not a criminal or insane, I’ve just been through a lot. Manic- depressive thanks to my uncle…but I won’t go into that.

Will was on the same wing as me, I helped him the first couple of months. Taught him who to avoid, which docs you could score stuff like chocolate off and stuff. We were pretty good mates, he told me why he was here ( accidental manslaughter and running off). I never get visitors but Will would let his guardian Mary Malone come see me from time to time. She was really good to me, always telling me stories like I was a kid.

I kept asking him to come with me when we were allowed out once every three months, he would always refuse telling me he had other plans. He always went to a garden once a year, never let me go with him. He said it was his special time. I followed him once and hid behind a tree, he sat like there was someone next to him and a pretty cat sat by his feet. When he started talking to himself I got worried, he kept murmuring “Lyra” over and over .

A month ago I pinned him about it and he went crazy, said I abused his trust but he sat down with me all day and told me all about Lyra, Dust, the world of the dead and Daemons. It felt great to learn that he trusted me with this secret so I asked him if he wanted to be my boyfriend. He said no, he hadn’t got over Lyra. His exact words were “our love saved the world, we went through so much its impossible for me to love anyone else”

The next few weeks I kept asking him over and over. He kept saying no, more forceful each time.

Today I cracked, he was my obsession and I couldn’t let him go. It was my day out today so I bought blonde hair dye and blue contacts, like Lyra’s. its been raining a lot, the river is flowing fast and freezing cold. There are two bricks in my pocket, it will be quick.

Bye Will, you and Lyra deserve each other.

Re: fan fiction by tucsonmike on 12 March 2007 5:05am
Caty fan fiction is just that. A book based on say a movie character.

I adore fanfiction!! Harry Potter is my biggest fic fandom at the moment but I've also written Artemis Fowl. And I want to start writing some Python fanfic thanks to the inspiration of Heather and others.
