Robert Mugabe by Ellerd on 14 March 2007 11:32pm

At what point did he start screwing up Zimbabwe? And what has happened to the voices of his neighbours?

Re: Robert Mugabe by tucsonmike on 15 March 2007 5:44am

Mugabe needs to die, so Zimbabweans can get their country back.

Re: Robert Mugabe by perfectbitch on 15 March 2007 12:48pm

Mugabe began as a the rational voice of Africa when Mandela was still in jail. Once Soouth Africa achieved independence, Mugabe seemed to have lost all reason and now I think he is mentally ill. The farms from where white owners have been driven or killed have gone to rack and ruin and the country is barely able to feed its people. Such a waste of an opportunity for real integration and prosperity for all.

I suspect you are right LInz. Mugabe is mentally ill.

Re: Robert Mugabe by Blairhoyle on 15 March 2007 5:04pm

he is ill especially when he has mustache like hitler.

my mates brother lived over there only 5 years ago and had to leave everything behind. the only thing they brought home was their passports and money.

he is like any other African leader - starts off as the voice of reason, power goes to his head and the place ends up like Fort Apache.

that place will turn into Somalia once he goes - civil war etc.

There's an election scheduled for Zimbabwe next year. Reckon Mugabe will get in with 99.9% of the vote?

*cough cough*

it's not as easy as it seems. we're not america. we don't assume responsibility for other peoples problems. we realise that, like america, things WILL go pear shaped.

we still provide aid.
we still love the country.

but i'm not willing to accept responsibility for uncle bob's problems just because we're happilly situated south of the border. we have enough problems as it is with crime, corruption, reconcilliation and people who just cannot stop finding excuses to blame either south africa or it's whites for something completely irrelevant to our lives today.

the reason we don't help as much as we should (and we do help a little) is because we don't wanna end up like all these other messed up countries.

Martin

ps. bob is a syphaliptic rapist pimp and i wish for nothing more than his demise.

but not at my country's expense.
