The Primaries. by tucsonmike on 9 May 2007 4:10am

I cannot believe it. The states are playing leap frog with one another, trying to get their primaries as early as possible. It is too silly for words!

Maybe the Siesta Period will be next February-November with activity at Primary Time. Just silly.

I was hoping they wouldn't do this. I was hoping this ultra early campaign season would be just a aberration, but if they're doing all of this in an official capacity, we'll essentially end up trained to be in campaign mode constantly. I don't think I can take this--start campaigning the day after the election to make the primaries, and so on, and so on...

*cringe*

I am not surprised this has happened. The moment the 2004 election ended, newspeople were talking about 2008 already. That had never happened before. In other words, you aleady had feelers out.

Gone are the days when logical deals can be worked out. Once the major primaries are over, the candidate just spends his time until the conventions working out who his V.P. and his cabinet will be if elected.

I also suspect you are going to have more third party candidates than you ever had before!

Where are George Washington, Ben Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson when you need them?

Watch out for Ben Franklin, Lucy.

When he decorated our house he tried to install lightening rods all over the place.

You give them back! Now! Painting your house, Lucy? They have a nation to save!

he hasn't tried doing that yet but he did play a very nasty prank on george washington using a kite, a key and a lightning rod
