Madeleine McCann by Spursfan on 10 May 2007 9:20pm
You will all be aware of the sad story of the missing 3-year old.

I found this on the net - it asks for people to print the poster and email it to others.

Web appeal over missing Madeleine

Missing: Madeleine McCann

Portuguese police have launched an internet appeal for help in tracing missing three-year-old Madeleine McCann.

Madeleine's aunt, Philomena McCann, has also devised an email poster as she fears that Madeleine may have been taken to Spain where the girl's disappearance has generated less attention.

Portuguese police have already followed up 350 different leads, and it is hoped that the online campaign and poster will help to extend the reach of the appeal to as many people as possible, including holidaymakers who may have recently returned from Portugal, or may be intending to visit.

In the UK, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre has asked anyone with information to contact the Portuguese police direct on 00 351 282 405 400 (international call rates apply) or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Please help by printing and circulating the poster and this article, or by sending it to anyone who may be able to help.

Don't know if it will help, but at least we will have tried.

The parents should be ashamed of themselves. How irresponsible of them to leave a 3 year old baby in an apartment by herself. Anything could of happened, as has been demonstrated.

The only good thing, which may come out of this, is that parents might think twice before behaving in such a careless and irresponsible manner.

I have tried not to respond to your outrageous comments, little troll, but you have overstepped the mark.

The last thing those parents need right now is people's criticism.

They booked the holiday because minding services were available, however for one thing or another they were not. They chose to go to a restaurant a few yards away and returned regularly to check on their children. If they had been THAT irresponsible they would not have bothered to check on them, would they?

They will regret that decision for the rest of their lives I am sure. Yes, to begin with I wondered why on earth they had left their children, but they seem to be loving caring parents who made a wrong decision.

Nobody's perfect. Let's hope they find Madeleine alive and well and leave her parents alone.

Well done,Anne.I've printed off the poster.
If I may say so,you show constructive feelings and care for those in this dreadful situation
Re: Madeleine McCann by Spursfan on 10 May 2007 9:47pm
Thank you. If only it wasn't necessary!!

‘Outrageous comments’

I hardly think my comments were outrageous! All I said was that the parents behaved irresponsibly.

Leaving a 3 year old alone is a recipe for disaster. It does not matter whether the restaurant was nearby or not. The child was still LEFT ALONE.

What would happen had the child fallen over? Been involved in a fire? It is a fact that when children awake from sleep they are disorientated – how do you think Madeline would have felt when she awoke and there was no one there to comfort her?

This made me laugh! – ‘If they had been THAT irresponsible they would not have bothered to check on them’

If they had been responsible they would not have left the child alone. If the child minding service was not in operation, then the parents should not have gone out. It is simple. The safety and well being of ones child must come first. Clearly in this instance the parents did not put Madeline as their first priority

Whatever happened to free speech? Can people not have a different opinion to Spursfan without falling prey to a rage of unprovoked abuse?

I hope this has a happy conclusion. No, I can tell you all sorts of horror stories about REAL neglect. (One of my brothers in law works for social services in Massachusetts).

Aww, she's so cute! This is such a sad story. What kind of a sicko would abduct a child? I hope it ends well.
Re: Madeleine McCann by Gollumit on 10 May 2007 10:22pm
If this sicko is caught then I think it might be a good idea to bring back the death penalty in the UK. Or better still torture.
Re: Madeleine McCann by Spursfan on 10 May 2007 10:41pm
Sorry to say this on such a sad thread but...hahahaha you are so predictable little troll with your 'lost password' letters! I was waiting for it to arrive as I had said something to you and - hey presto - one arrives!

Hey - can you be a bit more original next time?
