The Chatter Box : Blathering On
For Ellerd by tucsonmike on 12 June 2007 3:42pm
A long time ago, you thought Toastmasters was for rich Tucsonans. Well this months Toastmasters magazine has the following mention of Queensland Toastmasters.

A letter to the editor from John Scouller of Sandgate Toastmasters Club in Brisbane. It was about starting a prison club in Queensland. (There are all sorts of prison clubs here).

The intitiative to start a club @ Queensland Rail.

There you have it... Or as Walter Cronkite (Uncle Walter to some of us used to close his newscast with "and that's the way it was, June 12, 2007)

I have just been doing a little research on Toastmasters in Australia.

Kazzzz and I are thinking about joining in order to improve our public speaking skills.

I've found my local branch, I have to phone Bill. I wonder if they have a uniform, I hope it's not orange coz it doesn't suit me. Can we bring out own Bailey's?

Do they have maternity uniforms, Kars??
Re: For Ellerd by kazzzz on 13 June 2007 1:39pm
I certainly hope do Pats I would hate for Toastmasters to be guilty of sex discrimination!

I just found out there are two Toastmasters clubs in Glasgow ! It's one thing teaching Glaswegians to speak in public, but how do you get anyone to understand them ? LOL , my wife is a Glaswegian !

Something like Toastmasters would probably do me a world of good. I'm a hopeless public speaker. I'm pretty sure there's a chapter in my town.

Ellerd, check the site Kaz provided. You should not have any difficulty finding a club.

See you guys can help out when the International Conference is in Sydney in 2010. (It is only up the road in Phoenix this year).
