Much appreciated (says she, generously speaking on behalf of the entire UK). The security services are admirable & obviously doing a great job.It is good to think that so many more plots are foiled than executed and I'm sure this happens in US too. And anywhere else there have been threats/incidents, of course.

I was reading the BBC article about the doctors being arrested. That is hardly comforting. To think, Stalin had the phony "Doctors plot," now Britain has a real one.
Re: Glasgow Bombing by johnnythemonkey on 4 July 2007 11:06am
I'm relieved that the suspects so far all seem to be foreign nationals. In Scotland, relations with the Asian/Muslim community have been good. Well at least on the surface. If this had turned out to be perpetrated by 'homegrown terrorists' things could have been unpleasant here. We don't have the English tolerance.
Re: Glasgow Bombing by geordiegirl on 4 July 2007 11:58am
I wish the English could claim 100% tolerance after these incidents. After 7/7 people on underground trains and buses looked furtively & frightened at people with rucksacks, and the rucksack-ers noticed. I must say, in my own London suburb, everyone started speaking to each other in the street a bit more (didn't last) and local authorities, community leaders etc. put out supportive statements.
But doctors suspected, yes, that is really chilling.

i was in my hotel room in ibiza when this happened and watched it on the news. i was nervous about flying home and only the day before ibiza airport was evacuated due to a bomb in the terminal! i was nervous enough about flying as it was. this did not help!!!!

i think the emergency services and the 'normal' people involved have dealt with all that has gone on amazingly. thanks to all that have helped in any way!
