Yes folks,
while the Chicago 7 (and Terrence) were Chicagoing in Chicago with Michael and the poor Canadian Palinites were freezing their *&$#s off, trying to catch a glimpse of the man himself, some US Palinites, Stephanie (Stephlynne) and Craig had arrived in Christchurch on holiday and had arranged a rendevous with some Kiwi Palinite natives (Ellen and John) and their offspring, to enjoy a chat and a bite to eat together.
Yes, it was us!! :^}
And it was a great treat to meet up with some fellow Palinites.
Stephanie and Craig are really lovely and we had a lot of fun showing them around the city, with a lot of laughs along the way as you can imagine.
Steph had been hanging out for news of the 'Chicago girls', as they didn't have a laptop with them. I was able to happily relay the news of how well it had gone for you all. :^}
Craig and Steph are travelling around the South Island for three weeks, so I know they'll have a lot of experiences to share when they return home to the US.
Amazingly this is the third meeting of Palinites for me this year so far!!
The first were friends of Lyn's in Jan, who brought a gift parcel for us from Lyn in their suitcase . (Thanks Lyn x :^})
The second was of course Dianne and Our amazing Wellington/Michael encounter. (We had a great time, eh Di? :^}}} xx)
And now Steph and Craig. (Thankyou so much for the amazing gifts, the girls absolutely love 'Make Way For Ducklings'. :^})
So please keep coming over, as it's just amazing to meet and chat and discover just how similar we are, but living such different lives in different places.
We'll keep saving the pennies so we can come and visit you all in your native habitats. :^}

I'm rather shocked that the travels of the 'Chicago 7' have reached so far. **blush** It is loads of fun to meet eachother, isn't it! I'm so glad that you got to meet and have such a great time together. The Chicago trip was actually my second Palinite meeting. THe first happened last May 5th (tee hee) at a little pub near Kentish Town. We all keep in touch, one couple in particular. How glorious this all is. Great way for like minds to meet and enjoy eachothers company. I think it's the idea of this whole forum, for people from around the world to get 'connected'. I think Michael would be quite proud!

Hi all,
Craig and I returned to the States last night. I don't have a lot of time to write right now (lots of laundry etc. to take care of) but I wanted to say hi. Had an excellent time all around, and a meeting with Ellen, John, and the girls on the first day was the perfect start to our holiday. We enjoyed it immensely.
Spent a week and a half in a camper van and then took a week and a half guided tramping/caming trip. While in the camper van, we stopped in Kaikoura and took a Maori cultural tour. The man who ran the tour (Maurice Manawatu) appeared in Full Circle at the Maori marae. He remembers Michael fondly and said that they spent a lot of time with him that never made it into the series (e.g. they went crayfishing together).
Thanks, Michael, for this site and for your travel programs. You really are bringing people together throughout the world, and it's an amazing thing!
More details later, but we also did sea kayaking, paragliding, and even bungy jumping. What a rush! Met lots of lovely people; it was a fantastic trip!
