Happy Halloween by tucsonmike on 31 October 2007 5:19am

To all Palinites. Tomorrow night is Toastmasters. I am Toastmaster of the Evening and will do the meeting in Bela Lugosi's voice. This should be fun.

We are providing candy and invited high school students, who do not normally go trick or treating.

Enjoy, Mike. Tnis is the time of year I always wish I'm in the USA: Halloween sounds such fun the REAL way.
(In UK we have - in my suburb - unlicensed door-to-door begging from teenagers who scratch your car or something if you don't divvy up.I will be out this evening, but always pretend I am anyway.)

Happy Halloween from Canada,
USA Halloween, How could that be special? Last night I helped out at my community Halloween party. 3 hours of screaming kids on candy. Hope your holiday doesn't involve screaming children.

Cheers

No screaming kids. I am on lunch break @ work and just had my face painted for tonight. (One of my coworkers got the day off. Natalia is a cartoonist and does face painting).

The meeting was a blast. My friend Karen dressed up in Alpine costume and did a German accent (her mother is German)/

No I didn't.

Well I had given up on trick-or-treaters at 9 p.m. when two lads came to the door dressed up. Hooray!

Two years ago I dressed up in black dress etc and witches hat and only got one visit. Last year I had the sweets ready and hat - nobody.

I suppose it is because we are a very small village (no shop, pub or street lights) and if I lived on an estate I'd be cursing them!!

We have rubber bats (one battery-powered which flies round in a circle) up in the hall all year round...

We went for a walk yesterday evening at dusk and didn't see one kid trick or treating...it's not much of a big deal here.

It's big here, especially in heavily Mexican areas, because tomorrow is Dia de los Muertos. When we were leaving for Toastmasters last night, we got funny looks. In our neighborhood, it is considered almost rude to not stay home to be able to give the kids candy.
