Oh thanks Anne. If I were not so fed up with the subject, I would have found it amusing...
Quoting MPFC Episode 7, "Oh you're no fun any more!"
(Not you Anne, of course, you know whatahmean:) |

Exactly.
Blast, and The Telegraph is on it too. More MPFC sketches spring to mind:
1) The Public are Idiots
2) Penguin on the Telly (especially the last Graham's line. Try an "inspired guess" why?)

They are trying to make it international scandal, oh my:)) "A storm in a teacup" - is it a correct English expression ? "storm in a glass of water" we say here. This passage is especially revealing : "Actually, he has annoyed more than just someone, he has got a whole country hopping mad". Now he upset *the whole country*. Gee, this actually says a lot.
Let's not forget that even the British press is *still* a press with all it's eagerness for scandals.
And, of course, it's not M.P.'s case, but even a scandalous publicity is still a publicity. Or so they say. |

I say it's stupid. I found it amuzing because it is so silly. I can uncerstand that they may feel offended because the show is seen in many countries, but really... It's still, what, six minutes of publicity? There is no pleasing for some people. |

Well I was quite rude (intentionally) in my previous comment because I hated the evil comment about the tank in Germany. Of course that was stupid, but it totally erased my vague sympathy for the "indignant victims". |

I have a more cynical take on this. The DAILY MAIL is a very right-wing newspaper indeed & anyone one the left, as Michael is, though he doesn't broadcast it (no pun intended) they consider fair game & just make up stuff. I'm on the left, too & sadly the newspapers I read do the same for people who are perceived as right-wing. Anne, I know your views & am not getting at you - just the media, again. |
