Palins anti-Serb Bias by princepetr on 16 November 2007 1:56am

I was very disappointed to to read in Michael's book on New Europe the following "Slobodan Milosevic, ex-President of Serbia, died of a heart attack at The Hague after his conviction for war crimes".
Now first of all Slobo was not convicted of anything and died an innocent man, that's not my personal view THAT IS A FACT! Secondly, it is very naive to say he died of a heart attack.. It is patently obvious to anyone who knows anything about the Hague trial that Slobo was killed because he was making fools of his accusers. Palin has gone down in my estimation for putting his name to such inaccurate rubbish

princepetr - so, you are the person who killed Milosevic, then ? Otherwise, why you are so absolutely sure about it ?

Dear Kisch
If you look into his death it is the only logical conclusion to draw. He suspected he was being given a drug which neutralized the medication that he was prescribed for his heart condition. Milosevic wrote to The Russian Foreign Ministry expressing his fears that he had been poisoned with the leprosy drug rifampicin and four days later he was dead! As the Yanks say, Go Figure!

Flatfoot
And you believe them!? If you know anything about the drug rifampicin you will know that all trace of the drug leaves the body very quickly after it is adminstered Please do your own research!

Dear Flatfoot & Kirsch
Amazing that you both ignore Palin's major blunder in stating that Slobo had been convicted at the Hague. Who knows in 20 years times everybody will be saying that he had been convicted. I never underestimate the gullibility of the bewildered herd!

He would have been sentenced if he lived long enough to hear his sentence.

were the Russians involved in his death? it sounds the kind of thing they would do.

as for Milosevic, he should have been killed the second the SAS took him in custody then millions of pounds worth of protection and legal nonsense wouldn't have been wasted.

I've been to Serbia (was there 6 months ago) and met some nice people, some gave us advice to stay in the hotel and not venture out, then there were the one's walking around with guns and knifes.

I'm on Serbia's side (politically) when it comes to Kosovo but for Milosevic to go in mob handed and still killing everyone in sight was only going to result in one thing.

princepetr you claim Michael Palin has an anti-serb bias yet show no evidence to back up the statement. If you want to defend Milosevic then you are entitled to your opinion, you can even claim that Palin has an anti-Milosevic bias if you want quoting this statement "Slobodan Milosevic, ex-President of Serbia, died of a heart attack at The Hague after his conviction for war crimes". However how does this show he has an anti-Serb bias??? Anti Milosovic maybe( as many rightminded people are.) but certainly not anti- Serb.

Facts are only true to the extent of your knowledge.
Assumptions are not facts. Some facts I know to be true are hard to believe. I do not know if the following statement is true: 'Slobodan Milosevitch died at the Hague' therefore it is impossible to say that anti-Serb Bias applies to Mr Palin. Remember Mr Palin is a writer and broadcaster and may sometimes quote from sources which are inaccurate. Also, having met Mr P, I'm sure he is not anti any one or group - although, everyone hates terrorists with extremely few exceptions.
