The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Botswana? by tucsonmike on 21 November 2007 5:48am
No, I have not been (closest I got was about 70 miles from their border).

I felt I was close today though. For those of you who saw the woman in the German drindl costume on the front page of my Toastmasters club, Karen and her husband did a talk tonight for the Southern Arizona Hiking Club about their safari to Botswana exactly one year ago.

You do not think of Botswana as a safari destination. It is an empty country. The size of France, but it only has 1.6 million people.

It looked like an interesting place if you like seeing African wildlife up close and personal.

There are quite a few travel companies who "do" Botswana. I wouldn't mind going there to see the wildlife.

Has anyone read Alexander McCall Smith's 'the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency' series of books set in Botswana? They are great.
