Yes, to everyone who's celebrating it: Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your feast, family, and football!

I'm grateful for my husband and daughter, friends, plenty of food on the table, a warm house, a dependable car, and enough money to pay the bills and have a little fun. I didn't always have these things, and hardly a day goes by that I don't feel grateful for them.

I can still bitch and moan about stuff, though, which is why I use the screen name Mrs. Thing. She's Graham's character from the "Beethoven's Mynah Bird" sketch, sitting on a park bench saying, "I got up at 5 o'clock, I made myself a cup of tea, I looked out of the window, and by then I was so exhausted I had to come and have a sit down."

Oh, and I'm grateful that there are only 415 days left of the Bush administration, if it's okay to say stuff like that here.

(mrsthing, I love your posts- and thanks for the derivation of your username. I feel like you do for Christmas, though not a religious bone in me.And then it'll be fewer days until the end of Bush!!)
