Johnny Depp on BBC Radio 4 by geordiegirl on 16 January 2008 10:42pm

For fans (I'm looking at you, Anne, though you probably know this already) Johnny Depp & another actor whose name I forget are discussing 'Sweeney Todd' on Friday 25th Jan at 4.30 pm on the Radio 4 film programme.
(I also have scent of another Michael interview, will post more when I drag full details out of husband)

Thanx Linda.

And well done to JD for not only donating £1m to Great Ormond Street Hospital but also spending 4 hours in November reading bedtime stories dressed at Captain Jack Sparrow [though why he couldn't have given ME four hours dressed as CJS is a bone of contention!!!]to the sick children - without making a ballyhoo about doing it. All to say thank you for looking after his daughter when she was so ill.

This is the article in yesterday's Mail

Bless him.

Sounds a really good bloke, Anne. Open, decent, generous and- if he did the readings without fuss & it got out afterwards - modest. Nice.

AND sexy and good-looking. I ask you, what more could you want in a bloke. Oh...and rich.

I adore Johnny Depp. He is my favourite US actor.

Congratulations to Johnny for winning the Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his role in Sweeney Todd. I can't believe it was his first Golden Globe win! Let's hope his efforts are recognised on Oscar night too!

...if there is going to be an Oscar night for us to watch. The writers' strike just might drag on. I can't imagine that the Academy would be willing to stage a "press conference" like the Golden Globes did.

I don't know why the corporate comglomerates are so unwilling to negotiate with the writers since "Hollywood accounting" makes sure that no one ever benefits as no production ever makes a profit on paper. Maybe the behind the scenes negotiations have to do with making the mega-corporations actually accountable.

The corporate mavens seem to think that the public will lap up more "reality" shows which don't need writers. I don't think that the public is that stupid.

GO WRITERS!!!

Yes Geraldine I wish the writers success. Not much we in UK can do; boycott any TV programme? I tend not to watch that sort of thing anyway...
