Has the Palin crew ever done an exploration of Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland)? That'd be great! |

I wouldn't mind if they came back to Finland... But yes, it would be great. Nature is beautiful here in the remote north.
Besides, we are still waiting to see Pole to Pole in TV... We're still waiting for the 80 days. Who says Finns are slow? :P |

Elina, your DVD region code is "2" European, Finland included. Can you not buy the Palin DVDs from Amazon uk?

I could, Louise, but I don't trust foreign companies. Stupid thing really. However, I will get the DVDs in some point. Pole to pole is on Finnish TV this spring, though.
Isn't it just my luck that Michael visits my hometown (Rovaniemi) and I miss it... |

And he even sang the Finland song from Python when he was on a bus :-) |

Elina, I had the same bad luck myself - he visited my hometown in 1991 (right after Rovaniemi!), and I missed it ! Though, I must add, I wasn't aware of him at all back then. But still it is a great luck that we have these events captured on film, and that's why Pole To Pole has a very special place in my heart.
I was watching the extras for New Europe yesterday and I was marvelling at him saying "thank you", "goodbye" and "two kvasses please" in Russian. Delightful moments ! |

Sanna, there is a 3rd disc which has some scenes and sequenses that didn't make it into the broadcasted series. Quite enjoyable AND long !
I have the 3 DVD set, and you ? |
