| Another MP dream to pollute the message board

Please, all interpretations welcome!

I am outside of an old-timey cigar-bar steakhouse resturant. Feels like NYC, theater-district type restaurant. I can see very little inside the place, but I can see that there are many big hobnailed-studded leather chairs.
I am standing in the doorway, under a burgundy domed fabric canopy. The restaurant door had gold lettering on it – didn’t see what it said. The door faces out to a street corner at a 45-degree angle from the front and side windows. It is daylight but getting dusky. The light outside is like an Edward Hopper painting.
Out comes strolling MP with two other men. They are his age but older and grayer looking. All three were dressed in black khaki slacks, the other 2 in tweed jackets, and MP in a chocolate brown corduroy jacket with tan elbow patches. The 3 look like proper college professors.
I spot MP just as he is coming out the door. I feel giddy and star-struck but think to myself, “Calm down and you MIGHT get to talk to him.”
MP almost gets out the door when someone I can’t see stops him from behind and hands him a (his) walking cane. I can see MP (but not hear him) look back into the restaurant and thank the person. Then the 2 other men disappear and MP waits for them. Somehow I know that they have gone to use the loo. So now he’s alone in the doorway with me.
I quickly look away from him, pretending that I haven’t been staring. Then I pretend to casually look around and happen to glance his way. Then I say, “Hey, Michael Palin!” and extend my hand to him. He shakes my hand.
In my dream I recognize the walking cane as one that he’s carried with him on several travel docs. (In real life, no such thing.) The cane is plain looking, dark stained wood, no noticeable decorations. I believe that I will sound clever and unique if I ask him about it. Phew! I can make conversation with him now and not sound like an idiot, I think to myself.
I find myself saying something like, “May I see the telescope?” or “Would you please demonstrate the telescope?” MP is pleased to be asked. Score! He lifts up the cane and pulls out the bottom to reveal an old-timey telescope. I think to myself, that looks like something Lord Nelson would have used. It is a generic, brown, leather-bound telescope and the metal parts are aged, not shiny.
MP looks through it and focuses it at something across the street. Then he hands it to me so I can look through it. As I take it from him, it suddenly becomes a whole different object. Now there are 2 blown-glass sections with art patterns. One section is clear glass with a multi-colored design like a globe that illustrates the constellations. The other section is a darker opaque glass maybe navy blue or black, with a similar design with stars in only gold and silver.
I never looked through it. I just held it and looked AT it. It was quite a beautiful object.
That’s it. I woke up feeling content about it. Like, as opposed to feeling thrilled, or pissed off because I woke up...

I have no interpretation for you, but did enjoy your description of the dream. So now you feel like you have met the man himself. That's great!

LOL!
Seriously, though--that was a great dream. I'm not sure it means anything to anyone but you--you'd have to remember your own feelings about things to decide how to interpret it. I mean, a hidden telescope could be a phallic symbol or it might symbolize your desire to know more about Michael or share a secret with him because of your fondness for him. Personally, I wouldn't interpret this one. Just remember it happily. :D |

I agree with Judy. Try not to interpret it, 'cause it might be something which you don't like. I stopped interpreting my dreams long time ago because some of them are just too sick to interpret, and I don't want to know what traumas (if any) I have.
