NO WAY ! I can't beleive it - After waiting so long........The series has been EXCELLENT so far and I don't know what everyone else has been moaning about.....that's it, if Channel 7 has axed New Europe, then I am axing Channel 7 and they can shove their ratings ............blah blah blah.....I am seriously annoyed here peoples !

Oh no! That is terrible. Just because they only(?) had 677,000 viewers. That seems a lot to me. Maybe they should just change the night - on Saturday night a lot of people are out. I wonder if this figure takes in the amount of people recording the programme as well, if they can do that.

That is incredible. It was obviously sold to the wrong channel and scheduled at the wrong time. In the U.K, the main commercial channel ( I.T.V. ) shows wall to wall crap on a Saturday evening.
Hopefully, it will be taken up by another channel.

Very Good point JTM - I think the ratings would have been better on ABC. I was suprised that it was aired on 7 in the first place (commerical TV) oh yeah, and annoyed since the ads really do wreck the series with their interuptions. Anyway, I am boycotting Ch 7 now. I wonder what Michael is thinking about this ?

677,000 aren't great numbers. Then again, Channel Seven didn't put much effort into promoting the series. I saw only a few ads for the series, mostly on Saturdays - never during the prime-time weekday shows. The fact that repeat (dated) episodes of "The Great Outdoors" (standard travel show) preceded "New Europe" can't have helped either.

Anyway, I'm really disappointed. Next week's episode looked pretty good too...

Here's what ITV showed on Saturday evening in the UK.

6.05 Animals Do The Funniest things. ( a clip show )

7.05 All Star Mr & Mrs. ( nuff said )

8.05 Britain's Got Talent ( not on show on this )

The BBC comes in for a lot of criticism in the UK but if it did'nt exist, the above programmes are what we would be subjected to 24/7. There are now four main BBC channels and I recently watched the last couple of episodes of Himalaya which was repeated on BBC 4.

I LOVE Saturday night telly!

6.20 Dr Who - Really enjoying this series. DT is the best Dr Who EVER and Catherine Tate is brill in it.

7.05 I'd Do Anything - search for a Nancy and Oliver for a new West End show. And a chance to drool over John Barrowman (a waste to womankind if ever there was one!!).

8.05 Nat Lottery - well I COULD win one day and the shows that they show around the draws are excellent. At the moment it is 1 v 100.

8.55 Casualty - one of my fave progs.

9.45 Love Soup - this is brill!!

ALL BBC1 !!!
