Looking for out of the way sights in Prague and good food places for a visit in May
Re: Prague by mylomook on 22 April 2008 5:17pm
I was in Prague about a year and a half ago and I loved it! I spent most of the first day in the Jewish quarters. I grew up with stories of the Golem so I wanted to see where the stories orginated from. I don't remember the names of the places I ate at, but they were mostly Kosher restaurants.
I also spent a lot of time hanging around the St.Charles bridge and just wandering the city. Depending on how long you are in the Czech you should also check out Cesky Krumlov. It is a smaller town fairly close to Prague. I stopped there on my way back from Prag and ended up spending the night.

thanks for that good advice. I am also having difficulty finding somewhere to stay that is not ridiculously expensive. Any tips?

We stayed in this hotel, it's beautiful, very quiet, very off the beaten track and not very expensive.
The only bad point is that it's not in the center of Prague, but it was actually a good point for us.
Prague is a beautiful city, very warm and light.

Prague is a lot of fun, with lots to explore. Stayed in a hotel called Hotel Harmony. If you stay there and noise bothers you, make sure you get a room in the back, otherwise the trolley runs all night.
